Acceptable use

Consent is the rule.

What you may and may not do with VoiceStudio, how to report misuse, and what happens when someone breaks the rules.

Last updated 30 September 2026

The principle

Clone a voice only when its owner has agreed to it. VoiceStudio makes convincing synthetic speech from a few seconds of audio. That power is the reason for these rules. They apply to the website and previews, to paid Commercial Licenses, and, as our expectation of users, to the local app.

What is not allowed

  • Impersonating a real person, or a company, so that listeners are misled about who is speaking.
  • Fraud, scams, phishing, or defeating a voice-authentication or identity-verification system, including producing fake identity evidence.
  • Harassment, threats, or content that targets a private person.
  • Cloning the voice of a child, or of anyone who cannot meaningfully consent, and sexual content of any kind involving a real person's voice without their consent.
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit material, or content that depicts extreme violence.
  • Spreading false or deceptive information presented as real, such as a fabricated statement by a public figure.
  • Anything unlawful where you are or where the audio is published.
  • Attacking or overloading the website, scraping it at a volume that harms others, or using a Commercial License you do not hold.

Businesses we do not serve

We do not sell VoiceStudio for, or accept payment connected with, any activity banned or restricted by our payment providers (Razorpay, Zoho Payments and PayU), including illegal goods and services, adult content, deceptive or high-pressure selling, and pyramid or get-rich-quick schemes.

Reporting abuse

Write to privacy@voicestudio.sh. Say what you found, where, and when, and include a link or the audio if you have it. If it is your own voice that was cloned, say so; we may ask for something that shows it is you.

We acknowledge a report within two business days. If there is an immediate risk to a person, contact the police or your local authority first.

What we do about it

The desktop app runs on your machine, so we cannot see or stop what you generate locally. What we control is what we provide: we can refuse a purchase, revoke a Commercial License, disable a preview, or block abusive traffic. Depending on the case we may warn, suspend or revoke without notice, and we may pass details to the authorities where the law requires or allows it.

A license revoked for breaking these rules is not refundable. See refunds and the terms.
